Grounds Maintenance
Communal grounds kept tidy, safe and well-presented all year round.
What this service covers
Well-kept grounds are the first thing residents, visitors and prospective buyers see. Our grounds maintenance service keeps communal outdoor areas tidy, safe and well-presented all year round — lawns cut, hedges shaped, borders weeded, paths clear and leaf-fall managed. We work for property managers and building owners across residential blocks, commercial premises and mixed-use sites, delivering scheduled visits at a frequency that suits the site and the season. Because we also handle window cleaning, communal cleaning and exterior washing, many clients consolidate their grounds work with us as part of a single, accountable contract — one supplier, one invoice, one point of contact.

What we use to do the job
Our grounds teams work with professional-grade equipment matched to the site: ride-on and pedestrian mowers for lawns and verges, strimmers and edgers for borders and boundaries, hedge trimmers for shaping and height reduction, and blowers for clearing paths, car parks and communal walkways. Seasonal work is covered too — leaf clearance in autumn, gritting access routes in winter, and planting or bed maintenance through the growing season. Everything runs to an agreed schedule built around your site, with visit frequency adjusted seasonally so grounds stay presentable year-round rather than lurching between overgrown and freshly cut. All equipment is maintained, inspected and operated by trained staff.
Our safety commitment
All grounds work is carried out under site-specific risk assessments and method statements, available to property managers on request. Operatives are trained on every machine they use, wear appropriate PPE, and cordon off working areas where the public or residents are present. Equipment is inspected and maintained on a planned schedule. As a SafeContractor-accredited business, our safety documentation is audited annually and ready for your compliance records.
Frequently asked questions
Core grounds maintenance covers lawn mowing, edging and feeding, hedge and shrub trimming, weed control (including pathways, beds and borders), seasonal planting, litter clearance and keeping hard-standing areas swept. We can also pick up one-off tasks — clearing overgrown areas, removing cuttings, jet washing paths and entrances — alongside the regular schedule. The scope is set by the contract; we work to whatever is agreed.
Grounds maintenance is seasonal by nature. Spring and summer are intensive — mowing runs at two to three-week intervals, hedges need regular attention, beds need weeding. Autumn shifts to leaf clearance and general tidying. Winter visits are less frequent but important: litter clearance, checking drainage, keeping paths clear and the site looking maintained. We review the schedule at the start of each season and adjust visit frequency accordingly. The aim is a consistently presentable site, not a fixed-interval booking regardless of what the grounds need.
Yes. We take on one-off clearance work and reactive jobs as well as regular maintenance contracts. If a development has been neglected and needs a first cut or full clearance before regular maintenance can begin, that's usually the starting point. We'd assess the site, agree the scope and pricing, and then establish an ongoing schedule once the initial work is complete. Separate pricing applies for the clearance and the regular contract.
Yes. We carry £5m Public Liability and £10m Employers' Liability with an Indemnity to Principal Clause as standard — the cover most managing agents and property managers require. Our grounds team are direct employees; we don't use subcontractors for regular maintenance visits. RAMS, insurance certificates and operatives' training records are on file and available for tender packs.
